History:
The library of the School of Health Management and Information sciences was founded in 1977 with 2500 volumes of books collected merely for one major: “librarianship”. Currently, the library holds 10878 books in English and Persian, 1438 theses and dissertations, 16 Journals in Persian, and 45 Journals in English. Databases, such as Scopus, Ovid, and Science direct are accessible through electronic library.
The School of Health Management and Information Sciences offers courses for higher education in Health Economics (MSc & PhD), Health Management in Disasters and Emergencies (MSc & PhD), Medical Librarianship and Information Sciences (MSc & PhD), Medical Informatics (MSc & PhD), Health Information Management (PhD), Health Information Technology (MSc), Health services Management (MSc & PhD), Health policy (PhD) , Health Technology Assessment (MSc), Futures Studies in Health (PhD) and Medical Journalism (MSc). All related books are available at the library.
Our records/ resources are classified in LCC, and a comprehensive software system, AZARSA, is used for organizing and retrieving resources.
All patrons can access 18 data banks and electronic journals through Iran University of Medical Sciences Central Library.
