Profile of the SHMIS

The School of Health Management and Information Sciences (SHMIS) is an integral part of Iran University of Medical Sciences, a prestigious and well-regarded medical university in the country. Founded in 1986, SHMIS has has been recognized as the Center of Excellence for Health Management and Health Economics in Iran since 2013. Additionally, in 2022, SHMIS was designated as a WHO Collaboration Center (CC) for Hospital Management.

Currently, SHMIS encompasses six academic departments and 40 faculty members who provide teaching and research services to postgraduate students in health-related fields, including specialized areas like Health Services Management and Health Technology Assessment. SHMIS is committed to maintaining competitiveness in both teaching and research. Additionally, it places a strong emphasis on social accountability within the fields of Health Management and Health Information Sciences.
